Health Tai Chi Method Statement
Master Wong health Tai Chi is an alternative to high impact exercise, which will lead to an understanding of how to maintain the body, clear the mind and develop inner energy for life. Classical forms are preserved in a way, which makes it possible to move on and learn self-defence or to continue developing on the health side with a full understanding of mind, body and spirit being the ultimate goal.

- Step 1
Training
Students begin by learning basic warm up and cool down exercises, Chi Kung breathing, basic Chi Kung exercises and finally a short 8step routine comprised of elements in preparation to learn the Yang Style Tai Chi form.
Mentality
In the beginning it is important to firstly to learn to combine breathing with movements of the body and to adopt a fully relaxed yet involved state of mind.
- Step 2
Training
Skills learned in step 1 are carried over and the movements of the 8 step are expanded upon through exercises until eventually the full Yang 24 movement form is learned. By this point students should start to feel the physical benefits of Tai Chi and feel more comfortable and in control of their bodies.
Mentality
The second level of understanding is to learn to commit to what you are trying to achieve Tai Chi isn’t easy an easy road but it is a fulfilling one.
- Step 3
Training
Completing Yang Tai Chi makes up the physical preparation required to begin training the more advanced Chen style 1 & 2 students following the health course will find Chen style pushes their fitness and conditioning to a new level and continued practice of Tai Chi principles will start to yield noticeable results not only in physical but now also mental ability.
Mentality
The final level of understanding is to combine mind, body and soul. Tai Chi is a moving meditation exercise that once mastered is a useful tool to promote health and vitality throughout your life.
Over view
The practice of Tai Chi will enhance the function of the internal systems of the body as well as strengthen the muscles and joints externally.
To practice Tai Chi once you have an understanding is to know you are improving yourself. As you practice Chi Kung your memory will be better, you will pick things up quicker and the decisions you make in your life will be easier. As you Master the forms your balance and co-ordination will be better, muscles and joints will be come stronger and energy levels increased. This however is different from other forms of exercise not only will you be fit and healthy but your training has a purpose. The movements of tai chi can be , with the right instruction used for self defence.
Because the movements are passive and can be performed at any level you will be able to take part and maintain your health and well being for the rest of what will hopefully be a long and happy life.
